PG&E’s Zero Net Home Experience is a physical and interactive model built on an energy-training facility designed to help educate consumers on how to reduce their environmental footprint right at home. As lead visual designer and animator for the model, I created multiple brand touchpoints including a 7-foot interactive display and AR iPad experience. The 7-foot display functions as both an attract video and full interactive digital experience that greet visitors within seconds of entering the home. Then, the visitor is taken on an educational journey of annual and seasonal consumption comparisons, while the iPad experience enables visitors to take a deep dive on smart home features directly while exploring the home. Each iPad triggers content in designated zones, seamlessly upon approach arrival via iBeacons. Interactive hot spots call up multiple levels of information for the home’s features. When leaving the home, guests have documentation from their tour emailed instantly; all the while PG&E administers such features by a comprehensive CMS.
